Paediatric dietitians focus on meeting an infant/child/adolescent’s nutritional needs to allow for healthy growth and positive mealtime experiences. They do so by supporting parents/carers to feed their infants/children/adolescents, relating to fussy eating, limited food acceptance and sensory challenges, and developing a supportive mealtime environment.
SOS trained dietitians even more so. They work very closely with occupational therapists for positioning, fine motor development to support feeding, and understanding sensory needs. They also work with speech pathologists around communication needs and to identify if there are any swallowing difficulties.
